SIPExer, the SIP Packet Sending Tool, Updated to Version 2.1.0

We have already talked about SIPExer, a console tool that is ideal for sending SIP packets to servers to run tests, check that a system is still alive, and 1000 other things.

This time, we have just learned that it has been updated to version 2.1.0, a very interesting release because it adds many advantages over the version we first got to know.

For me, it is one of the essential tools in my day-to-day work.

• Sending OPTIONS requests (a quick SIP ping to check whether the server is up)
• Registration and unregistration with custom expiry values and contact URIs
• Authentication with plain-text passwords or HA1, with hashing algorithms for authentication: MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA512-256, SHA512
• Setting custom SIP headers
• Template system to build SIP requests
• Simulation of SIP calls at the signaling layer (INVITE-wait-BYE)
• Option for late-offer SDP (late-offer)
• Replying to requests received during SIP calls (e.g., OPTIONS keepalive messages)
• Sending instant messages using SIP MESSAGE requests
• Color output mode to make debugging easier
• Support for multiple transport layers: IPv4 and IPv6, UDP, TCP, TLS and WebSocket (for WebRTC)
• Sending SIP requests of any type (e.g., INFO, SUBSCRIBE, NOTIFY, etc.)
• Self-call simulation: pre-registration, call to its own AoR, answer and hang-up
• Two-user call simulation: registration of both, call from the first user to the second, answer and hang-up
• Subscription session simulation: sending SUBSCRIBE and waiting for NOTIFY requests
• Option to re-resolve the destination FQDN via DNS before each in-dialog request (UDP only)
