Planet lanza un terminal SIP Wifi

Pese a que no soy muy buen amigo de los terminales IP wireless para hablar por VoIP, la necesidad de cobertura wifi y lo aparatoso que puede llegar a ser configurarlo momentaneamente para hacer una llamada fuera del área que tenemos configurada para hablar (una oficina, una nave industrial o cualquier otro lugar donde tengamos cobertura y solamos estar bastante tiempo es el sitio ideal para este tipo de terminales), no es práctico utilizarlo cuando vamos por la calle con la esperanza de encontrar una red wireless abierta y sin protección disponible para que podamos hacer alguna llamada, o incluso si encontramos alguna red que conozcamos los datos de conexión hay que configurarlo convenientemente: dirección IP, DNS, SSID, tipo de cifrado, clave de cifrado, son algunos de los parámetros que debemos rellenar cuando accedemos a una nueva red.

Terminal Planet WifiAún así, y pese a que hoy día existen móviles GSM que permiten utilizar conexiones wireless o bien 3G para poder conectarnos a internet y realizar llamadas utilizando nuestra propio servidor VoIP, se siguen fabricando terminales únicamente con conexión wifi y (eso sí, menos mal) compatibilidad con SIP, como es el caso de este modelo que ha lanzado Planet y que es como el de la foto. (que no el DECT que ya tenían)

En cambio, otros terminales wifi como el TC-300 o el Pirelli, permiten conectar tanto vía wireless como gsm, permitiendo hablar por wireless cuando estamos en el trabajo, y utilizar la red gsm cuando nos encontramos lejos de ella.

En fín, algunos llegan tarde con sus «lanzamientos«.
